CNS appointed as a Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub 'Lead School for Music'

CNS is thrilled to announce its appointment as a Lead School for Music, for the Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub.  This prestigious role will last until August 2026 and has followed a rigorous selection process.  CNS is among a select group of schools from 12 regions in Norfolk and Suffolk chosen for this important initiative.

Lead Schools for Music have been recognised by the Music Hub for their exceptional music education offer. They serve as role models, showcasing best practices and providing support to other schools in enhancing their music education. As a Lead School, CNS will collaborate closely with the Music Hub to foster musical opportunities and innovation in the region.

Our appointment as a Lead School reflects our dedication to high-quality music education,” said Anna Reddington, Head of Music at City of Norwich School. “We are committed to delivering a rich curriculum, supporting teacher development, and creating inclusive pathways for all students to explore their musical talents. We believe in the transformative power of music in education and look forward to leading by example.”

As part of this initiative, City of Norwich School will focus on several key areas: delivering and modelling high-quality curriculum and co-curricular music, mentoring and training teachers, creating inclusive pathways for musical progression, and advocating for local music education activities.

Jo Philpott, Headteacher at City of Norwich School said “CNS is very proud of its strong music tradition and we are delighted to be part of this excellent regional initiative”.
