Norfolk and Norwich Music Festival

On 10th March, the City of Norwich School choir walked to St Peter Mancroft Church to perform for the Norfolk and Norwich Music Festival. We are incredibly proud of our choir, which has grown to an impressive 65 members this year. Not only have numbers increased, but the quality and confidence of the singers continues to improve.

The choir performed two pieces, Viva La Vida and Skyfall, both in four-part harmony. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform in such a beautiful venue and to share their music with the audience. It is also always a pleasure to listen to the other choirs taking part. CNS received a Highly Commended which is a great achievement.

On Wednesday evening, our saxophone and flute groups also took to the stage for another exciting evening of music-making at the festival. Flute and Sax Nations were both awarded Highly Commended Plus and Sax Pistols were awarded Outstanding which is phenomenal!

Huge thanks to Mrs Evans and Mrs Parker for all they do in teaching and leading at CNS.

Unfortunately, we were unable to enter more groups this year, as one of the classes we usually participate in has been temporarily removed from the festival programme. We look forward to hopefully taking part in even more categories again in the future.
