CNS Oscars
On 25th March, we held the second ever CNS Oscars, and it was a resounding success! The event celebrated the films made by our Year 13 A Level Film Studies students for their non-exam assessment.
During the evening, the audience watched 18 five minute movies, all written and directed by our students and starring an array of actors that included family, friends and drama students from CNS. The films covered a variety of genres from social realism to zombie horror.
There were around 200 people in attendance at the event and there were CNS Oscars awarded for a variety of achievements from the serious ‘Best Cinematography’ through to the silly ‘I just didn’t see that one coming award for best plot twist’.
As they left, audience members were full of praise for the quality of the films and professional standard of the event itself. Some younger students were vowing to sign up for the course in the future and some parents asked if they could enrol too!
We’re also delighted to say that over half of the films that were seen during the evening achieved the top band of marks.
Special thanks to Mr Westwood, Mr Rootham, Mr Beavis, Ms Blake, Mr Staves and Ms Macklin-Betteridge for making the event happen and for working tirelessly during the year to support students in the production of these films. Well done all!
