Inspiring the next generation of women in technology
Last week, four women from Aviva, each working in different areas of IT, visited the school to deliver an engaging workshop to some of our Year 9 and 10 pupils. The session aimed to inspire girls to explore the skills and career pathways connected to artificial intelligence.
During the session, the students gained an insight into how AI works and how the technology is already shaping the world around us. They looked at how AI can be used to develop apps, giving them the chance to consider the creative and practical skills involved in bringing digital ideas to life. The group also explored the potential benefits and challenges of future AI, thinking about how the technology might evolve and the impact it could have on society, workplaces, and everyday life.
The visit offered a valuable opportunity for our pupils to hear directly from women currently working in IT and to learn about the wide range of roles and pathways available.
We’re extremely grateful to the Aviva team for giving their time, expertise, and enthusiasm to inspire the next generation of young women in technology.
