Students lead the way with new eco challenges

We are incredibly proud of our Eco Ambassadors and the positive impact they continue to make within our school community. Last year, their hard work was recognised with the achievement of the prestigious Green Flag Award, celebrating our collective efforts in litter picking, recycling, and promoting sustainable travel.

This year, the Eco Ambassadors are building on that success with a renewed focus on protecting our planet. Their message is simple but powerful: little bits really do add up.

The first initiative of the year is the Cornelius Cycle Challenge, designed to encourage more students to travel sustainably. Each week, one bike is chosen at random and secured with a lock. The student is then given a code to unlock their bike and take the lock to Student Services, where they receive a prize in recognition of their efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.

This fun and engaging challenge rewards positive behaviour while highlighting the importance of greener travel choices.

Even more is on the way, with a brand-new walking challenge set to launch later this month, giving students another opportunity to get involved and make a difference.

If students would like to take part in any of the eco initiatives or become more involved, they should contact Miss Cook in PE.

Together, our school community is proving that small actions can create big change!
