Year 8 football team show kindness and team spirit
On Tuesday, the Year 8 football team met with Ms Philpott at break time to enjoy some cake and celebrate their recent match against Sewell Park. While their 6–1 win was impressive, it was the team’s behaviour and sportsmanship that deserves recognition.
At the request of the opposition, a ball fitted with a bell was used for the final ten minutes of each half to enable a blind student to take part in the game. The CNS team responded brilliantly and made a conscious effort to include the student by giving him space and opportunities on the ball.
During the second half in particular, the student became much more involved in play and even came close to scoring. The inclusivity and kindness shown by our students was the real highlight of the match and we are incredibly proud of the boys for the way they represented CNS.
Well done to all involved!
