Congratulations to our Sixth Form Student Services Manager Mrs Blake who was shortlisted as one of the three finalists in this year’s EDP Education Awards Outstanding Support For Students.
The awards ceremony took place at the Forum last week and there were many fabulous stories of people and schools who go above and beyond, including Mrs Blake who has supported thousands of students in our sixth form over the last 18 years.
In the many testimonies given for the nomination, one past student said: ”I was introduced to Mrs Blake when I was a struggling teenager at CNS. I remember walking into her office, absolutely certain that I would not engage, and vowing to stay silent. However, no less than ten minutes in, I had not only spoken to her but blurted out things which had been weighing heavily on my mind for years. Mrs Blake was relaxed, fun and silly, whilst also being deeply caring and unwaveringly kind. I soon found that she actively listened better than anyone I’d known and was reliable and honest. I remember feeling so, so lucky to have Mrs Blake as a person I could go to during my time at CNS & I genuinely do believe that she contributed to not only the A* grades I ended up getting but far, far more importantly to the stronger and more confident adult I am now.“
We are very proud to have her in our team and believe the award is so well deserved! Well done Mrs Blake!
