Farewell to our Spanish Exchange Students
On Tuesday 4th November, we said a warm farewell to a group of Spanish students who had spent the week before half term with us as part of The English Experience Integration Project; a scheme designed to connect overseas and British students through a unique cultural exchange.
The Spanish students were hosted by families in Norwich and during their stay were paired with a CNS “buddy” of a similar age, accompanying them throughout the school day to experience life at a British secondary school. Over the half-term break, the Spanish students explored some of Norfolk’s attractions as well as a day-trip to London, before returning to CNS this week for a final two days together.
The visit concluded on Tuesday afternoon with a special farewell celebration during period 5. The students enjoyed cakes and took time to write postcards of thanks, reflecting on their experiences and the friendships they had formed. Two CNS students spoke about how much they had enjoyed taking part in the exchange and the strong bonds they had built with their Spanish “buddies.”
Ms Philpott also addressed the group, highlighting the value of the memories created and the importance of maintaining these international friendships in the future.
It was a wonderful way to end a memorable visit, and we wish our Spanish friends all the best as they return home.
