CNS student crowned Spelling Bee champion

Congratulations to Year 7 student Kamil, who was crowned winner of this year’s OAT Spelling Bee competition in the prestigious grand final that took place at Cambridge University, Gonville and Caius College in April.

Over 250 students from 15 OAT academies initially embarked on the spelling bee journey, but Kamil was one of only ten students to prove themselves worthy of the final challenge following the regional finals that were held in February.

Having mastered 150 words in either French, German or Spanish, the ten finalists demonstrated their linguistic mastery on the grandest stage and under the watchful eyes of the audience, parents and staff.

The standard was exceptional and the competition ended in a nail-biting tiebreaker.  But with unwavering focus, Kamil emerged victorious, claiming the title of Champion.

At the end of the event, Kamil was presented with his award and winner’s prize – a two-night, three-day excursion to Barcelona with his family, where he will be able to utilise his MFL Spelling Bee expertise!

Well done Kamil!
