Posy-Bluebell O'Rourke

Theatre Producer

I’m Posy-Bluebell and I am alumna of CNS, and now a Theatre Producer in London. I was at CNS for both high school and sixth form, from 2013-2020.

For my A-Levels I studied History, English Literature and Drama, but my time at sixth form was sadly cut short due to covid. I loved all things theatre and music at school, and enjoyed contributing to wider school life through student leadership positions. Also, I was a proud member of Holkham!

What was your greatest school achievement?
Winning the Ormiston Creativity Prize and more importantly passing my maths GCSE (anything is possible).

Favourite CNS moment.
Compering the schools’ Christmas showcase, organising the annual talent shows and producing a play for our sixth form theatre company – my first ever theatre producing credit

What makes CNS special to you?
The kind and supportive staff members who go above and beyond to help students achieve their best. Also, all my wonderful memories and lifelong friendships from school.

What have you been up to since you left CNS?
Since leaving CNS I studied Theatre at the University of York, where I developed a passion for theatre producing. I have since produced independently for my own theatre company, and have freelance produced for the National Theatre. Now, I live and work in London producing commercial musical theatre. Most recently, I worked on Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular, which was a lot of fun. I like living in London because there are over 200 theatres, and I try to see as many shows as possible for research purposes, but also just for fun. Last year I went to the theatre 56 times (luckily with the help of various free or reduced price tickets)!

Who has inspired or influenced you?
Firstly, Chappell Roan for being a brilliant performer and self-advocate. Secondly, Ellie Keel, who is a fearless independent theatre producer and founder of the Women’s Prize for Playwriting, for teaching me everything I know about theatre producing. Last but by no means least, my wonderful parents for teaching me hard work and kindness, and for always believing in me.
